1. Are there any grants available for students?
LSDriving2024-01-27T21:57:45-05:00Yes, there are a variety of grants available for students interested in becoming professional truck drivers. These grants are provided by both the Government of Alberta and the Federal Government.
Please note that certain grants having waiting lists, while others have limited funding.

2. Which course is best for Class 3 Drivers?
LSDriving2024-01-27T21:59:58-05:00For Class 3 Drivers with at least 2 years of documented driving experience, the Class 1 E&E (Experience and Equivalency) course is the best option. This course offers a condensed version of the Class 1 MELT (Mandatory Entry Level Training) program, allowing experienced drivers to upgrade their skills and qualifications more efficiently.
3. Are truck rentals and road tests included?
LSDriving2024-01-27T22:02:06-05:00Yes, truck rentals and road tests are included in our courses. For the Class 1 MELT (Mandatory Entry Level Training) course, we include two truck rentals for the road test, which is a $240 value. Additionally, Light Speed Driving Academy will book the government road test for the student, a $220 value.
For the Class 1 E&E (Experience and Equivalency) course, which is designed for Class 3 Drivers with at least 2 years of documented driving experience, we include one truck rental for the road test.
4. Are the fees for government tests included?
LSDriving2024-01-27T22:05:23-05:00No, the fees for government tests are not included in our course fees. Students are responsible for paying these fees directly to Alberta Registries. It's important to note that all driver training courses and fees at our academy are exempt from GST.
